It took 30 years but I eventually got to shoot that 4 day commercial on a Caribbean island I’d always wanted to make. Some of the scenes needed to be shot from the air and there’s only one way to scout that stuff – you climb into a plane and check out the view from 2,000 feet.
Travel Tip Avoid the summer months which are said to be brutally hot. We were there in January and the weather was perfect. My advice is to ignore the big resorts and go to a smaller hotel in Georgetown on Grand Exuma and find a nearby beach on the west side of one of the 365 islands in the Exumas. Warning: watch out for the sand fleas which appear at dusk and attack your ankles.
