A TRIP TO TAHOE

Flying to Reno from LA is certainly quicker but the drive is infinitely more scenic. Within 60 minutes of leaving LA you are climbing towards the high desert which means endless vistas and then the sight of the long creeping fingers of the Sierras as you travel North. You also get to visit the location for a Pink Floyd album cover!

Travel Tip In winter months avoid making the journey northwards on Friday afternoons or Southwards on Sundays otherwise you’ll get mixed up with skiers racing to Mammoth Mountain and back for the weekend. And if you are a skier Mammoth is well worth the visit.
